This year’s adult retreat was packed with encouragement and fun! Not only was the weather beautiful, but it was an inspirational week of fellowship, worship and Bible teaching. Mornings featured devotions with Jon Epps, Director of Camps & Retreats at The Firs, followed with hymns led by John Sinkevitch and then our morning speaker, Paul Holmes. Paul is an Exploration Geologist who God called into pastoral ministry, and he spoke from the book of Job on suffering. Dan Wilson, a recently retired pastor, spoke in the evenings from Ephesians. Afternoons included seminars by Dan Williams and Mike Pooleon.
During the week, we traveled to the Squalicum Boathouse at Zuanich Point Park on the Bellingham Marina for our morning session, lunch and kite flying. Another destination was South Cove at Camp Firwood, where we enjoyed a hot dog picnic and heard from the camp directors about Camp Firwood and Fircreek Day Camp. Other activities included a card making class, boat rides on Lake Whatcom and viewing the recently released Luis Palau movie. Musical highlights included a 40-member choir concert led by John prior to an evening session, and the Saturday banquet featured Bronn Journey, a renowned harpist from the Seattle area. Overall, it was such a great week. We’d love to have you join us next year!
