Over the years, The Firs Adult Retreat has become a unique tradition. The week is designed with you in mind. Friends connect and reconnect, gathering together for fun events, fabulous meals, special music and hymns, meaningful fellowship, and challenging instruction from God's Word, presented by gifted communicators.
September 3-8, 2013 Jon Aldrich attended Firs conferences as a young boy and later served on staff (1968-1973), following seminary training. Jon has pastored several churches, including Sunrise Baptist Church in Custer, WA, where he ministered for 20 years; he currently serves as Associate Pastor at Northwest Baptist Church in Bellingham. Jon brings a richness to the presentation of God's Word, with practical application to daily life. Mike Pohlmanis Senior Pastor at ImmanuelBibleChurch in Bellingham. Mike is no stranger to The Firs, having met his wife, Julia Whipple, while on Firwood Summer Staff in the ‘90’s. He is currently serving on The Firs Board. Mike holds several degrees, including a PhD from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a gifted teacher and communicator with a passion to preach God’s Word.Tim Knipp will lead our devotions each morning. A graduate of Regent College, he currently serves as one of the teaching pastors at Hillcrest Chapel in Bellingham. Tim has an amazing ability to present complex Biblical truths in very understandable ways.
